360.679.8544Michael Mailliard grew up in a large family in Lyman Hamilton Washington on a dairy farm. Michael was an entrepreneur from a young age raising cattle, rototilling gardens and growing Christmas trees while still working on the family farm. Michael kept doing this until the 1985 dairy buyout. When Michael was 25 in 1986 he created Mailliard’s Landing Nursery in Mount Vernon Washington. The store wasn’t much then, a small piece of property where he sold plants. Michael expanded the store adding a landscaping crew and purchasing a landscape supplies store next to his nursery. He was then selling all things landscape supplies. In 2000 Michael expanded again and added a store in Oak Harbor Washington, and in 2005 he moved it to a larger facility still in Oak Harbor. Recently Michael sold the landscaping side of the business to Delfino Salazar and the Mount Vernon store to Roberto Salazar. Michael Mailliard is proud to say his nursery is the largest and most complete landscape supplies store on Whidbey Island.
